ELEVENTY-ONE / BROTHER SHEVEK FROM ANNARES
no bosses no wages just a wall around us
no bankers no landlords but none may leave Annares
no premieres no soldiers but none may leave Annares
no bosses no landlords but revolutions must evolve
and change to reach its full potential
“whoever puts their hands on me is usurper and a tyrant”
whoever builds cages for me is comrade to the slavers
whoever stands in freedoms way is party to armed factions
“whoever puts their hands on me is a usurper and a tyrant”
“to make the thieves disgorge their booty
to free the spirit from its cell
we must ourselves decide our duty
we must decide and do it well”
“away with lord and slave in every future age...
and as one we all will cry
we will unite
we will survive
“what force on earth is weaker than the feeble strength of one”
together we fight as one,
one for all and all for one (we fight as one)

I thought Black Table's "Obelisk" was a top 10 extreme metal release of 2016. This EP from 2012 is a bit less experimental but I think just as amazing. Wonderful, complicated guitar parts, progressive bass lines that you can hear, very clean and clear drums that do not muddy up the music, and some of the most unique shrieky vocals ever. I don't know if it's Black Metal...there are aspects of it that remind of Minsk or Rwake...so I think of it as progressive blackened sludge. MindOverFour

An outstanding Extreme doom death album, in the best tradition. The funerary atmosphere reminds of Evoken ('Centuries of ooze" bears striking similarities, for my delight). It is overall sharp, dark, hypnotic and unrelenting. One of those rare convincing new bands that hold proud the legacy of the biggest names. Bertrand Marchal

never been a big death metal fan but this is actually super accessible for the genre, has fun concepts, and personally i'm always a fan of albums with short tracklists and huge runtimes (for individual songs) Great time, good jumping on point for newbies too. alienasu
